New Referrals

One year ago today we received new referrals after losing our first ones.
This is the picture we received. I haven't shared it before. We called it the Holocaust picture. The bwins looked so scared, so lost, and so alone. If you look closely, you will see a small tube coming from L's nose and taped to his cheek. This is what set us off that he had medical issues. We were also given two single boys to consider, both in the younger (2-3 year old) age range and healthy.
Our decision time was here. Lots of prayer followed. God led us to our sons.

  1. That's such a sad picture. They look as though they have tears in their eyes. Breaks my heart. I'm so glad you decided to bring these 2 home.

  2. Oh my goodness. I'm so glad you could see the beauty in them through that picture. Most referral/databank pictures are quite sad looking -- I know Peanut's was -- but L and El's takes the cake. They look like totally different little boys. I just kept glancing back and forth from the referral photo to the photo of them in the header of your blog.

God is so good! They are a perfect match for you all; or should I say all of you are a perfect match for each other. And a BIG ouch on the dishwasher door accident!! Been there and done that!

  6. oh my.. that is sad.

It is quite odd to look at that picture, then look up in your template and see the picture of them today, and it makes you wonder if they are truely the same children.

Did they ever tell you why L had the tube or just leave it hushed?

  8. The title of this post shocked me. I was like WHAT??!!! Has she been keeping a second adoption under wraps? Then I realized that it was your boys (though a pitiful, strange, barely recognizable image) in the photo.
    They sure have blossomed.
