Finishing Home Study/Starting Dossier |
Our home study is almost complete. We have sent in the rough draft and are just waiting on the final copy to be completed. We were afraid our time was getting long and we might not be able to get the boys as quickly as we would like. However, our adoption agency said things are right on schedule and we even have a slight cushion. We may need it. We are now in the process of gathering all of the documents for our dossier that will be sent to the Russian government. They have to go through quite a process. After we gather them all up, they have to be notarized. After they are notarized, they have to be apostilled by the Secretary of State. I had no idea what apostilling was. If I understand correctly, it is just notarizing the notary, in other words, saying the notary is good. Once we get those papers in, they will be translated into Russian and then we just wait on an invitation from the Russian government. That's where we're at right now.
We received a $50 check in the mail the other day from a distant relative in California. It was so exciting. She apologized for not being able to help more. If she only knew how grateful we are for every dollar we can get for this endeavor. Every little bit helps. We are so grateful for her generosity. We are getting ready to send in some grant applications. Hopefully, we can find favor in the eyes of some grantors. If not, we know God will provide in some way. He is always faithful.

God will provide. You have to remember that.
The fun part of the notary is asking when their notary expires. We got classic looks for that one!

Just found your blog, congratulations! We are adopting 2 girls from Azerbaijan (and have 6 kids at home!) I would love to see how you got a relative to donate money, we need all we can get!
