First Zoo Trip
Last summer, even before the boys came home, our kids were talking about the bwins' first zoo trip. We have talked and talked and talked. Finally, yesterday it was time to go. Here's how it went.

We blew a tire in our huge 15 passenger van at one of the busiest highway intersections in the whole state of Oklahoma. D did an amazing job of steering us off the bridge we were on and getting us to the side of the road. We sat there for quite a while. Finally, a taxicab showed up. The seven children (one extra) and I stuffed into the taxi and went on to the zoo while my dear husband waited on a tow truck to haul Big Red to a tire shop. (We had already used our spare.)

Once dad arrived, we saw the giraffes....

...the elephants(from Dad's shoulders) ...
...and the zebras.

We had fun on the swings! (Boy, isn't having big sisters great?!)

We took our yearly "this is how much we've grown this year" picture on the trusty old playground frog. (Aren't there more of us this year?)

Wow! What a trip! When do we go again?

Oh, what fun. I wished we lived closer to each other -- it would be great fun to meet up with our kids for fun outings like this. (Minus the flat tire, of course.)

What a great day! It looks like the trip lived up to all expectations--and even had a little added excitement.

Oh, I feel your pain with the flat tire! I'm glad hubby was there to save the day.

the zoo is always fun, as long as it is not to hot and all the animals are hiding in cool places!
Tires can be such a pain! Thank God for safe travels.
I love to see your family, how they are all so loving and helpful...I'm sure they have their moments, but they look like the perfect six pack! How blessed all 8 of you are!

Kim, that's a LOT of kids! I always shake my head wondering how you keep up. Every one of those kids is precious! It looks like you had a great day at the zoo, despite the flat.

Looks like you guys had a fun day! Except the flat tire part, of course. poor Big Red....

I also love the "look how much we've grown" picture on the frog. Do you have other pictures of your kids, posed on this same frog throughout the years? It would be fun to post them all in chronological order, to show the way your family has changed.

What a great time you all had! It must be flat tire season as I have had two in a 4 day span. Have 4 new tires so cure that problem now. ;-) Yay for your DH and his patience!

My sis-in-law does that with the twins at the zoo every year for their birthday. This year she sent out the past couple along with the new one. It was great to see who they've grown.
Glad you had a fun trip to the zoo. Made me wish my little one was here to come join in the fun. (Maybe next year)

Sorry to hear about the flat. But so glad it didn't ruin the day.

I am so glad you were able to go to the zoo and your plans weren't derailed!

I recently had a flat tire and waited forever for help- so I feel your pain! I am very excited to take Pineapple to the zoo. Probably soon.

What a great family you have! I am sure they have so much fun together. That is neat that you take them on such fun outings.
