Getting to the Root of It
J is nearing his 7th birthday and has never lost a tooth. However, his 2 bottom front permanent teeth have been fully in for quite a while now. When we took him to the dentist in January, the dentist told us it was normal and to keep wiggling the baby ones. He said if they weren't out in 3 months to let him know.

Today, L and El had check-ups. While there, I mentioned to the dentist that J's teeth had not come out and that they weren't even starting to be loose. He took a look at them and suddenly decided that today was the day. They took him back and extracted his two teeth. I was a little worried because it was so unexpected, but J did great and didn't even make a peep. He was very brave.

Afterwards, I met with the dentist and he said that J would never have lost them because of the massive roots those puppies had on them. They are unbelievable! Anyway, tonight J will get his first tooth fairy visit. His mouth looks a little odd because he has two deep holes with two full grown teeth behind them. However, his mama thinks he's the one of the cutest little guys ever! What do you think?

Cute J with his new look (including the black eye from helping dad stake trees).

He is very cute. My son also has a black eye this past week from playing to hard and falling over onto a hard toy. Boys will be boys.

I love the lost tooth look. And the black eye is the perfect accessory.

He is very handsome! I had to get my teeth yanked for the same reasons. I still remember the dentist coming at me with the plyers and so began my disdane for dentists. I hope your boys weren't scarred like I was, although 4 years of braces didn't help me either.=)

My boys teeth did the same thing. The big ones grew in before the other ones came out and they had their teeth pulled.

    Cute smile!

He wears the lost tooth look well. I hope the tooth fairy is generous with him (especially since he was so brave!).

Hey, he is a cutie. Logan has lost 8 teeth so far and right now he has no top teeth--makes it hard to eat almost anything. Hope all is well.
