Some of you may remember that at the HOPE Symposium on May 20, we were approached by some Kenyan ladies for some help. The one lady wanted textbooks for a school that her brother runs in Kenya. He teaches approximately 100 children with very little help and no funds. The children have never seen a schoolbook.
There were a bunch of homeschoolers having a book sale nearby at the end of May. I called the organizer of the sale and asked if I could set a few boxes out if anyone wanted to donate anything they didn't sell when the day was done. She called me back that afternoon and told me to bring more boxes.
We are still working on shipping possibilities as it is very expensive. We have joined with the Shine Foundation who helps children in war-torn Liberia. They are also collecting books for the school they built there. We haven't worked out all of the logistics, but hopefully these African children in Liberia and Kenya will have some schoolbooks in the future.
CHECK OUT THE DONATIONS!!! These are mostly reading books.
These are textbooks of every kind and every level. Believe me, homeschooling curriculum is not cheap. This is a huge blessing! If you have time click on the link above for the Shine Foundation. Wow! |
you are so giving of your time and your life. What a saint!
