Three Beautiful Words |
This morning we had another first. Both boys are very loving, almost extreme at times. They will squeeze tight and not let go. They love to stroke my face and hair over and over, sometimes roughly. Until now, L would stroke my face and keep repeating, "Vitaly's Mamka." Today, he climbed up on me, stroked my face, looked me straight in the eye and said, "I love you." He then followed with, "Ya love Mamka." This is the first time that either of the boys has said this on his own and not just repeated it after me. Usually I am the first to say it, and then they follow. L usually follows goofily with, "I love you ky love you." This is his own silliness and fascination he has with rhyming. However, today was all serious. I can't tell you what that means to me. It is the greatest!! What a way to start a day! Let's hope the rest of today follows suit! |

That's wonderful! I remember the moment when Vladimir said Ya tebya loublue and he meant it. He had been saying it for a while before, but it was just a repeat or something to say. When there was emotion behind it, I could tell. It's amazing, isn't it?

Such a sweet story. I can only imagine how wonderful that felt.

I'm still waiting. She says something after it is said to her, but it doesn't sound anything like,"I love you." She is fairly understandable with her other words, so I often wonder if this is one of her weird attachment avoidance behaviors. But sometimes when I am sitting she will come and sit next to me and she will put her hand so gently on my leg and begin to pat me. She will look at me in the eye for a long moment and that is when I think her heart is saying it. But the words would be wonderful to hear. Congratulations on this huge step!
